Christmas can be a time that puts everything that you have been feeling all year under the microscope and makes it appear bigger and more intense. For some people, it is the highlight of their year, but if you are reading this at a low point in your life, Christmas can magnify feelings of loneliness and failure x 10! The only thing that appears smaller to you is your opportunities for happiness and change.
You are at a crossroads
If this message has found its way to you, then you have either reached, or on your way to a crisis point in your life. You are standing at a crossroads, and let us be honest, some of the roads that you are thinking of walking down are dark enough that only your shadow can be seen. No matter how hard you try, you cannot see any future with a happy outcome, so what is the point in trying? Being happy shouldn’t be this difficult, right?
Without any blame or judgment, the reality is that for you to be so unhappy, you have been living a life that is not aligned with your soul’s purpose, for a very long time. You have forgotten that your only reason for being here is as an expression of love and abundance and like so many before, you have been duped by the illusion of this world and led down a false path that promised so much.
Your pain is a call to stay
The pain you feel is your soul shouting at you that it is time to rebuild and start again. Who you are truly meant to be has always been within you. Hidden beneath the layers of pain, loneliness, low self-esteem and fear of change is your soul’s purpose trying to break free and experience love, happiness and the unlimited potential to achieve your dreams. Your pain is not a call to leave but a call to stay. It is a beacon of hope calling you home to your true self.
You may think your life is heading in a direction that you cannot change, but this is not true. The very reasons that you want to leave this world are the very reasons the world needs you to stay. A selfish person would never worry if they were failing, they would blame everyone else and carry on regardless, but you blame only yourself. Your capacity to feel things so deeply shows that you care, and people who care have enormous capacity to do great things and you can do great things!
Press the reset button
If I told you there is a reset button and at any moment you can begin again, a clean slate, would you press it? You have forgotten that you hold a powerful connection to the universe within you. This connection means just one positive thought and intention to heal yourself today, is enough to course correct your life and change your whole future, right now!
You had to reach rock bottom so the process of healing and rebuilding could begin. This is the moment!
It may take a lot of effort to think positively when you feel like giving up, so take a few deep breaths and pause this fast train of negative thinking and look at Christmas with a new perspective. What if the point of Christmas wasn’t to highlight everything that was wrong in your life but the moment when you decided to make everything that you have been through count for something, make it all for a reason? Bring purpose to your pain and make it matter!
Birth your new life
If we take religion out of the equation and reclaim Christmas from the economy, in its purest form Christmas is the light of renewal and hope, a time to birth the new and release the old, allow everything that is no longer serving you to fall away, reset and start again. The 25th of December is not just the date the world celebrates the birth of hope in the form of a tiny baby in Bethlehem, but the day you can choose to birth your new life into existence too! Isn’t this the best present to give to yourself?
